Excellent progress is being made on the renovations to the Guilford Country Store! The oak flooring has been delivered and will be installed and sealed before our Open House on Sunday, October 14 . Cliff Allard, who donated the timber, has inspected it and the Kerbers donated their services to saw and mill the boards. Fluorescent lights have been installed- and the whole area is BRIGHT ! ...Track lights over the Cafe area and in the vestibule are installed...The entrance ADA approved handicapped ramp has been poured at the entrance...The GULF sign and island that occupied the middle of the parking lot are gone- thanks to Chameleon Coatings of Brattleboro who removed the sign and LaRock Construction of Guilford who removed the cement base...Doors have been hung; the sprinkler system installed; a moisture barrier placed over the earthen basement floor...Volunteers led by Katie Buckley have painted the walls and Diane Shapiro has painted the new exterior clapboards...The search for a proprietor continues- and a new donation drive is underway. |
